Prep volleyball | Bayshore, HEAT, Manatee sweep; BCS, Cardinal Mooney post wins

BRADENTON -- The Bayshore Bruins breezed to a Class 5A-District 10 victory over the St. Petersburg Gibbs Gladiators in an away volleyball match that was played in Bradenton, sweeping the three sets by scores of 25-8, 25-6 and 25-8. Joy Norman had four kills, 14 aces and a block to lead the Bruins (5-12, 4-2). Sierra Booth added nine aces.

ELSEWHERE -- The Manatee HEAT swept the host Southeast Seminoles in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-12 and 25-15. Leading the home-schoolers (12-1) were Macenzie Krause (six aces, 26 service points), Mariah Dunlop (11 kills), Isabella LaVassaur (11 kills) and Emily Poll (two kills). Leading the Seminoles (11-9) were Emma Bartges (seven kills, six digs, one block), Marline Valcin (two kills, four blocks), Sydney Mitchell (six assists), Emma Rissman (two kills), Molly Persson (five assists, one kill). ... The visiting Manatee Hurricanes swept their Palm Harbor University High foes of the same nickname by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 28-26 in a Class 8A-District 8 contest. Haley Coulter had 14 kills and 17 digs to lead Manatee (15-4, 5-1). Jacqui Armer added 14 kills, and Gabby Coulter had 28 assists. ... Bradenton Christian visited St. Petersburg Keswick Christian Crusaders, winning the match in five sets by scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-23, 23-25 and 17-15. Leading the effort for the Panthers (11-9) were Olivia McDaniel (10 kills, 12 digs), Kia Kern (10 kills), Jayme Haynes (seven kills, nine assists) and Savannah Shontere (18 digs). ... Cardinal Mooney celebrated Senior Night with a five-set victory over Sarasota Christian winning by scores of 19-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21 and 15-13. Keri McMahon and Maddie McNally each had 13 kills. Maria Soscia added 16 digs. Sara Tonitis had five kills and three blocks, and Ally Firek added five digs.
