Prep football | Manatee staying in Florida, will play Miami Central instead of Seattle team

BRADENTON -- The Manatee High football team won't be travelling out of state after all.

The Hurricanes' scheduled trip to Seattle to play Skyline High has been nixed after news broke last week that the game was in doubt because its sponsor, Next Level Foobtall, pulled out after losing its airline sponsor.

The game was officially ruled dead Thursday. So Manatee will host Miami Central, last year's Class 6A state runner-up, during Week 3, according to head coach Joe Kinnan.

Central lost the 6A state title game to Seffner Armwood.
