The U.S. Women's Open sectional qualifier is scheduled for May 18 at Bradenton Country Club. Players snatching a qualifying berth after 36 holes of golf at BCC earn direct entry into the U.S. Women's Open later this summer.
The field features a mix of amateurs and professionals, including Nelly Korda, who made the cut in the 2013 U.S. Women's Open at the age of 14, and former Manatee High and St. John's University standout Jennifer Neville, who plays on the LPGA Symetra Tour.
Tee times begin at 7:15 a.m. for the morning rounds, and the final afternoon tee times are tentatively scheduled for 2:45 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend the tournament, which will be hosted by three-time U.S. Women's Open champion Hollis Stacy, who is a World Golf Hall of Famer and BCC member.
The 17th annual Bradenton City Two-Man Championship is slated for Father's Day Weekend, June 20-21, at River Run Golf Links.
The entry fee is $75 per player, which includes 36 holes of greens fees, continental breakfast both days, tee prizes and lunch following Sunday's final round. The format is a four-ball stroke play with teams flighted after 18 holes. Practice rounds will be available the week of June 13-19 for just $13.99 for all registered entrants.
The first 60 teams signed up are guaranteed entry into the field, which will feature tee times between 7:28 a.m. and 9:28 a.m. both days. For more information, contact River Run at 941-708-6331.
Lakewood Ranch High is holding its Mustang Golf! Camp for junior golfers ages 6-16 at The Links at Greenfield Plantation just one week this summer. The camp is slated for July 27-31 and sessions are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Male and female junior golfers of all skill levels will receive personalized instruction with practice on the driving range, putting green and short game areas. On Friday, July 31, juniors will wrap up the camp by playing the course and having an awards presentation/banquet.
The fee is $150 per junior golfer, with a discounted price of $25 off for families with more than one child. Range balls, equipment (if needed), beverages and healthy snacks are included. Participants should wear soft spikes if possible or tennis shoes if not possible. Golf attire dress code should be worn. Trophies, T-Shirt and certificates are awarded to each participant. At River Strand, David Begg aced the 173-yard 5th hole on the Tributary course hole with a 5-wood. Witnesses were Brian Goodwin, Marshall Poulton and Grant Poulton.
On March 3 at Timber Creek, Fred Quillin aced the 3rd hole with a pitching wedge. Witnesses were Les Quillin and Tom Leedy.
On March 18 at Peridia, Nick Petti aced the 8th hole with an 8-iron. Witnesses were Lloyd Cooke, Gene Stang and Jeff Duell.
On March 20 at Pinebrook-Ironwood, Vince Goldsworthy aced the 124-yard 5th hole with a 6-iron. Witnesses were Larry Preston and Phil Messina.
