HOLE TO REMEMBER: The white course’s ninth hole is a straightaway, 401-yard par 4 with a tree-lined fairway.
UNFORGETTABLE: Ever get eagle on a par 5? The 390-yard ninth on the Orange offers average golfers that chance, but beware of the water in front of the green.
INSIDE INFO: The purchase of the course by Neal Communities included a provision to donate one-fourth of 1 percent of home sales to Manatee County’s Boys and Girls Clubs.
DID YOU KNOW?: The ninth hole on the Orange Course was once used as a landing strip by the founder of the courses, Floyd Myers. He used to fly his plane in from Akron, Ohio, in the late 1950s and early ’60s.
