News reports from ESPN and NBC Sports say the Tampa Bay Lightning avoided a Friday arbitration hearing with forward Vladislav Namestnikov after the team and player reached an agreement on a two-year deal.
The deal is worth $3.875 million, the sources say.
The 23-year-old was a restricted free agent.
Namestnikov scored 14 goals and 35 points in 80 games with the Lightning in the last campaign, and he scored a goal and three points as the club got to the Eastern Conference final.
NBC Sports said the next negotiations to be concerned about are the ones with Nikita Kucherov, who did not file for arbitration but still requires a new deal.
