Local roundup | Southeast's Ronald Taylor finishes with 999 points after loss to Riverview

Southeast boys basketball player Ronald Taylor finished with 24 points, giving him 999 for his career, during an 85-60 loss Wednesday at Riverview.

Taylor will have a chance to cross the 1,000-point plateau on Friday when the Seminoles host St. Petersburg Lakewood.

Southeast (10-11) also got nine points and eight assists from Tre Alexandrea and nine points from Mykel Bing.

SOUTHEAST -- Venerable Southeast head coach John Harder has been named the 2014 South Sectional Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations Coaches Association.

The South Sectional includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

SEMINOLE OSCEOLA 3, PALMETTO 2 -- Cassidy Reich scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, who ended the Tigers' season in the Class 4A-District 10 semifinals.

Boys soccer

SAINT STEPHEN'S 2, CARDINAL MOONEY 2 -- The host Falcons settled for their second tie in a row in the regular-season finale, getting goals from Antonio Colacci and Kevin Zandomenego to finish 10-1-4.

Henry Howell and Alex Virgilio has assists for Saint Stephen's.
