Abdul Carter Accused Of Hypocrisy Over Jaxson Dart's Trump Support

As much as a swath of NFL fans may have disliked seeing Giants QB Jaxson Dart introduce President Trump at a recent event, Giants pass rusher Abdul Carter's decision to publicly call Dart out over it has put him under a microscope too. Now Carter is being taken to task over some of his Trump-adjacent choices in recent years.

As a rookie in 2025, Carter decided to ask the Giants if the team would be willing to un-retire the No. 56 jersey belonging to Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor so he can wear. The Giants rejected his request and the wider fanbase criticized him for even having the audacity to ask at the time.

But as some users on X have pointed out, Carter might be a bit of a hypocrite for admiring Taylor since Taylor himself is a supporter of President Trump as well.

"Abdul Carter idolizes Lawrence Taylor so much he begged to wear his retired #56 with the Giants. Whatever you do, don't show him this video of LT praising President Trump," Alec Lace wrote on X, sharing a video of Taylor announcing his support for Trump.

Plenty of fans on X have pointed out the hypocrisy of Carter saying nothing about Taylor's support of Trump.

"Giants legend Lawrence Taylor meets Trump and Abdul Carter was begging him for his jersey number. Jaxson Dart meets Trump and Abdul Carter goes nuts. Why such totally different reactions from Carter? I think it's obvious," one user on X remarked.

"Abdul Carter idolizes Lawrence Taylor. Does he know Lawrence Taylor is a Trump supporter? Maybe he should delete his whole X account," wrote another.

"Hey Abdul Carter, check this out! Lawrence Taylor loves President Trump!" a third remarked.

Beef Squashed?

Carter has since taken to X to announce that he's spoken to Dart and the two of them are fine with where they stand.

At the end of the day, whether Carter has an actual problem with Dart over his political views or not, the two are going to have to overcome them and work together. The Giants aren't going to get rid of Dart over his views and Carter isn't going to request (let alone be granted) a trade over it either.

There are going to be some baiting questions in training camp over this whole kerfuffle, but by Week 1 everything is going to be normal again.
