Livvy Dunne's Reaction To Paul Skenes Giving Up Home Run Goes Viral

Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes had a rough day on the mound against the Toronto Blue Jays today and his girlfriend Livvy Dunne was there to show her support (and suffer alongside him).

Skenes lasted five innings on the mound for the Pirates before getting yoinked. In five innings pitched he gave up nine hits, four runs (all earned), and one walk with two strikeouts. But the worst at-bat of the day came in the bottom of the first as George Springer belted one 398 feet deep into left field for a home run.

Video from Sportsnet shows Dunne's reaction to the play. You don't exactly need to be a trained lip-reader to know that she let out a pretty big expletive after Springer smashed the ball.

The broadcasters noticed and had some funny thoughts on the scene.

"I believe she attends almost every single game of his and she is invested. She is not just sitting around and looking around. She is into the game - emotional, (clip of the home run and Dunne's reaction) occasionally profane... but she is invested in the successes and rare failures of her Cy Young-winning boyfriend Paul Skenes. That's a power couple right there."

The Power Couple

Dunne and Skenes have ranked among the most popular athletic couples in the country since they started going out several years ago. Skenes led LSU to a national title in 2023 while Dunne was competing on the gymnastics team.

And while Skenes is the only one of the two that continued athletics beyond college, Dunne has become a social media superstar with millions of fans hanging on her every post.

In his first two MLB seasons, Skenes earned All-Star and All-MLB First Team honors twice, led the league in ERA and was the NL Cy Young winner in 2025.

Today's rough game against Toronto is an aberration in an otherwise spectacular young career.
