Kyle Busch's Rival, Brad Keselowski, Has Request For NASCAR Hall Of Fame

With his tragic passing this week, Kyle Busch will never get a chance to enjoy his inevitable induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. But Brad Keselowski, one of Busch's longtime rivals, believes that the Hall can do something special to honor his memory.

Per The Athletic's Jordan Bianchi, Keselowski has proposed that Busch be immediately inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the mandatory waiting period for his entry should be waived.

Under the current Hall of Fame rules, Busch would not be eligible for another two years.

"Drivers who have competed in NASCAR for at least 10 years and have been retired for two years are eligible for nomination to the NHOF. In addition, drivers who have competed for a minimum of 10 years and reached their 55th birthday on or before Dec. 31 of the year prior to the nominating year are immediately eligible for the NHOF," the NASCAR Hall of Fame state on their website under the eligibility section.

Wait or Not?

NASCAR fans are a bit divided on whether the Hall of Fame rules should be relaxed for Busch, no matter how good he was or how tragic the circumstances behind his passing.

Some argued that the Hall has made many all-time great drivers wait a few years before adding them, while others argued that the family deserves more time to grieve and heal before having to go into the national spotlight.

"Nah we need to let this years class have its moment and let the family grieve," one user wrote on X.

"I don't think immediately is the way to go, but certainly should be on the next ballot. He has had three HOF careers after all. His numbers in any one of the three series would get him in," wrote another.

"He should and will go in the HOF, but in his proper time. Others have passed tragically, but weren't immediately inducted," a third remarked.

"Couldn't agree more. Especially because it just seems fitting for him to enter alongside Harvick. Not the circumstances we'd want for that to happen…but it's what we were dealt."

"Would be a good time for NASCAR to fix their method of inducting. They're years behind other sports, it's time for a big add."

There's clearly a wide range of opinions on the issue. Where do you stand?
