I am deeply disappointed that the Herald has endorsed Rick Scott. I would have been equally disappointed had they endorsed Charlie Crist.
This campaign has been one of the most negative in recent memory, primarily because both of my opponents are deeply flawed. The Herald made their decision based upon which of the two major-party candidates they felt had less "political baggage." I find it troubling that the benchmark for endorsement is set so low.
Our state government is corrupt and broken. Instead of endorsing either of the former governors responsible for the damage, perhaps The Herald should have endorsed the candidate who has a plan to fix it.
Unlike both of my major-party opponents, I have never been accused of corruption or unethical behavior in my business, personal or political life.
Unlike Crist and Scott, I give honest and direct answers to questions. Unlike the Republican and Democrat candidates, I'm offering real solutions to the problems facing Florida's families and businesses.
I urge you not to make the same mistake that The Herald has. Let the Republican-Democrat establishment know that they don't own your vote. Your vote belongs to you, not them. Don't waste your vote by limiting your options. Don't let the attack ads scare you into voting for more of the same.
Now is the time to think, and vote, outside the two-party box.
I urge you to research all three candidates in this race, and cast your vote for the best person for the job. I firmly believe that I am the best choice to restore honesty, vision, and common sense to Florida's government. I ask for your consideration and your vote.
Adrian Wyllie, is the Libertarian Party candidate for governor of Florida.
