Democrats’ sit-in disrespects law

Democratic members of Congress, including Rep. John Lewis, D-Georgia, center, and Rep. Joe Courtney, D-Connecticut, left, conducted a 26-hour sit-in on the floor of the House chamber in the Capitol last week to protest Republicans’ refusal to take up gun-control legislation.

When we forget that government should and must be a government of law rather than of men, then this nation has set its course into self-destruction. There comes a day in the destiny of every nation when the leaders who govern the people disregard the rule of man, then that nation is in trouble. We observed that breech of integrity and faithful respect in the rule of law by our governed. Led by John Lewis, the Democratic leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives brought this nation to a new all-time low.

Why did this sit-in, in the House of Representatives, by the Democratic members of the House, supported by members of the Senate, become a prioritized option to a few legislators? These elected men and women demonstrated they have no respect for law and order or for our U.S. Constitution.

So this is indeed a sad day for this country. In fact, this action is as sad as the obscene mass killing in Orlando. For like then, America has lost 49 Americans and America has lost respect for government by some of its elected leadership.

Oh, so you may think I am some sort of guns are everything type person? Think again. I’m personally opposed to the distribution of the type of guns John Lewis and his associate bullies want to pass a law against.
