I believe it is time to clean the streets that we use in Palmetto, Bradenton and Ellenton. First, the first southbound exit coming off the DeSoto Bridge, which is a circle-shaped road, has not been cleaned in at least a year.
Three quarters of the way around, on the left, glass is in the road. On the right side as you enter this road, grass is growing at least 5 inches into the roadway. Not to mention the amount of dirt. When it rains, it is flooded there.
This is a well traveled road as it leads to the Manatee Memorial Hospital and also is used by ambulances.
Another bad spot is at the intersection of U.S. 41 North and Haben Boulevard. Cigarette butts, glass, and whatever are disgusting, especially with the civic center right there.

I am sure there are other areas, like on U.S. 301 North and 60th Street in Ellenton. This may be a good time to hire some people who need a job and take them off unemployment.
