Letters to the Editor

World War II pilot's safe crash landing in neighborhood commendable

I feel the need to comment on the letter to the editor that implied that Mr. Balazs Orban was not too concerned about the seriousness of his recent forced landing in a residential area in East Bradenton.

I have known "Bill" Orban for over 20 years and have been a passenger in his plane. He is a very careful pilot, and if he was chuckling after the landing it was a sign of relief and not that he thought it funny.

His skill in a very dangerous situation should be admired.
