Letters to the Editor

Thanks, Bradenton Herald, for removing slashes on images of arrested suspects

Thank you, Bradenton Herald, for your courageous editorial decision to stop printing pictures of people with slashes through their faces on Sunday's Crime Stoppers page.

By your action you remind us all that though some of these folks have done awful things, they have not stopped being human beings. Nor have they stopped being sons and daughters, mothers and fathers of people in the community.

Your decision challenges us all to be less judgmental.

For those who feel it was not a good decision, I offer this adaptation of one of Jesus' sayings, "Let they who are without sin make the first slash."

Rev. Brian Bagley-Bonner
