U.S. postal service needs to remain top priority

We need to support our local "American Postal Workers Union." In a recent Bradenton Herald article, the president, Deborah Smith, talks about downsizing and services being cut.

I recently went to my local post office thinking I could mail a letter today and it would be delivered tomorrow since it was in the same zip code. I had no clue I was asking for "preferential treatment" until the worker chastised me. When questioned, he explained the letter must first be sent to the sorting facility in Sarasota. Then it would come back to the same post office for delivery.

We need to encourage our lawmakers to keep postal service a top priority.
