I want to thank Congressman Vern Buchanan for his well thought out vote against the "death tax."
Those of us who worked hard, saved our earnings, and paid our taxes should be entitled to pass on those savings/businesses on to our families without being taxed again.
It isn't the billionaires like Warren Buffet and multimillionaires like the Clintons who come to mind; they have their foundations and other vehicles to shelter their money.
I'm concerned about the family ranches, farms and small businesses many of us struggled to build only to be taken away by the socialists who fritter away our tax money on over-paid and under-worked bureaucrats like Lois Lerner. Not to mention the "ne'er-do-wells" who think the country owes them a living but won't grab their "boot straps" and get off their fanny.
We are long overdue for "fair tax" and "balanced budget" amendments.
The Washington establishment would operate quite efficiently with half the crossword puzzle workers they currently employ. I've been there and witnessed the waste which could easily be cured by dissolving the federal employee unions, which Franklin D. Roosevelt was against.
The chuckle in Washington is the definition of civil service: "You don't have to work and can't be fired."
