I've noticed that Bradenton dog owners are following the fad of bringing their pets to public places. I've seen them in Walmart, Hobbie Lobbie, Costco, Walgreens and many other stores. The fad is to claim that pets are service animals.
It is not fair to those who actually need service animals, and it's not fair to those of us with allergies. I've read so many opinions online about this subject.
It surprises me that business owners are turning a blind eye to this, which is only making the problem worse. People with trained service dogs are having a difficult time because of all the fake service dogs out there.
"Emotional Support Animals" are not service dogs! These animals do not have the same rights as service dogs. The law is clear!

There are severe federal penalties for claiming a pet is a service dog. Fines, jail and loss of Social Security benefits to people who are caught claiming their animal is a service animal when it is not.
Unfortunately, no one enforces these penalties. This is why the situation is out of control. I'd love to see an article in the local paper covering this issue. It's a pretty heated debate online and most people do not have the facts straight.
