I am a fairly new resident of Bradenton. I decided to go on the school bus ride on Saturday to see the lights of what was supposed to be the best Bradenton had to offer.
Sorry to say, I was not impressed. There were some nicely decorated houses, but only one that I would call spectacular.
I have been driving around on my own and have seen much better examples of lights. I live in the Bayshore Gardens area, and we have some nice examples. The corner of Bowdoin Place and Georgia Avenue has a better display than anything we saw from the bus.
On another note, a big annoyance was the screaming kids on the bus. There were quite a few. I would say 2 years old and under who were screaming or crying the whole time.
Why would parents take infants on an evening bus ride? They definitely had no interest in the lights, and they spoiled it for people who did.
I don't understand why this is such a popular thing to do. Needless to say, I will not do this again.
