K.E. Rettler's Oct. 9 letter to the editor missed the point. The list of failures of this administration along with fast falling approval ratings and even an admonition by Jimmy Carter makes most of us think President Obama is doing a very poor job.
Let's go back to before his first election when he raised his hand high and said in a few days we will fundamentally change the United States. A very general statement greeted by a roar from the crowd.
Unfortunately a general statement has no substance and allows a person to decide what he thought the speaker meant. You could ask 50 people in the room what he meant and get 50 different answers. So instead of complaining about the person you elected twice, accept the fact he is doing exactly what he meant to do.
Our country is going in the wrong direction and you who voted for Mr. Obama caused it by believing a very general statement by a very mediocre candidate. Next time ask for specifics.
