Happy Veterans Day.
As a veteran with two tours of active duty, I do honor Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11. But this Veteran's Day will be a very sad one for me because I can no longer use my all-time favorite quote, which is "I never met a veteran who fought for socialized medicine." Because, you see, I have met one.
But, unfortunately, there is more that one in this politically correct world we live in today.
Now, let's get something straight. All political systems that end in "ism" are evil! Of course, nearly everyone agrees that Nazism, fascism, Marxism are all evil.
But more and more Americans, I fear, don't recognize the evilness that is communism and/or socialism. I've heard too many people say "socialism isn't so bad."
Well, I must say socialism is somewhat like marijuana. It's a gateway drug, luring people quickly into communism, then into Marxism and fascism, where the individual literally means nothing! The state is all-important.
And so, this Veterans Day, I'll shed more than one tear for the vets who literally gave their lives so Americans would not, ever, have to live under any "ism."
