Let's break down the two words that are used to formulate the term "health care" and what they each mean. Health: the state of being free from illness or injury. Care: things that are done to keep someone healthy and safe.
Now bring the two words together and you get health care: the prevention or treatment of illness by doctors, dentists, psychologists, etc.
How does this all translate for us here locally? To me, I believe it means that we are all deserving of access to quality health care. Taking care of our indigent patients is equally as important; we must put the health and well-being of our entire community at the forefront.
Sometimes it is best to go back to the basics and see how things stand on their own before you put them together. And, in this case, health care is a part of the fabric of our community that must be woven together properly for all parts to work together to reach the ultimate goal of health and well-being.
