I want to apologize to the yellow Charger "Bad Boy" car that I pulled out in front of on 75th Street on July 11 at about 7 p.m.
I broke my No. 1 rule that I try to follow: If any cars are coming, just wait until they go by where I'm trying to turn.
I pulled out and got in the left lane, thinking I would let the two cars coming in that lane go by and not hold them up.
Well, I did not see, until too late, that the Charger was closing in on me fast in the left lane. As most cars on 75th do heading north, they have to pass everyone and get in the front of the pack.
After the two cars passed me on the right, I tried to get over in the right lane. Well, the Charger shot over in the right lane and shot between me and the second car.
Might have given him an ego boost, but that was a very dumb move. The angle he cut over, I could have clipped the left rear of his rocket car and he may have flipped over.
Again, it was my fault to pull out, but not my fault that you were speeding.
If I see your "Yellow Rocket" again, I will get out of your way, as I was trying to do then.
Think about this: If we had wrecked, our cars would have been severely damaged, we would have had to wait for police to get there, our deductibles might go up -- all so you could get to front of pack.
If you want to see how fast the "Yellow Rocket" will go, visit the drag strip out east of town.
Again, I'm sorry, but use of common sense will get you far in life.
