Manatee County supervisor of elections gives thanks

Dear voters of Manatee County: Today, Tuesday, I am announcing my retirement as supervisor of elections at the end of my current term, January 2013. It is with honor and pride that I have served as your supervisor of elections.

It is important to me at this time in my life to spend more time with my family and have the opportunity to enjoy some of my hobbies that I have not been able to pursue.

To my family that have shaped me with the elections office, I say thank you and I love you. To my wonderful assistant and staff, who have helped make the supervisor of elections office one of the most successful in the state, I say thank you. I am in awe of the number of supporters and friends I have gained over the years; to all of you, I say thank you.

With one more year remaining in my term, I assure the voters of Manatee County that I will strive to continue to provide you with the same quality of excellence as I have for the past 27 years.

Thank you for allowing me this wonderful opportunity to serve you.

God bless you.

Bob Sweat, Manatee County Supervisor of Elections
