James Frazier’s Nov. 2 letter consisted entirely of complaints that the Koch brothers support Herman Cain. To check the validity of a political complaint, mentally switch the political party named. Did Mr. Frazier have any objections to Democrat fat cats who fmanced Obama’s candidacy? Not in recent memory.
The first seven months of Obama’s presidency, the most frequent White House visitor was Andy Stem, a union executive, with 26 visits or so, probably not just for coffee and Danish. More likely he was trying to shape administration policy to favor unions at the expense of other Americans.
Stem retired, replaced by Richard Trumka, who continues the visits. Incidentally, unions that supported Obamacare and pushed for its passage now get permission to opt out in large numbers, again leaving other Americans stuck with it.
Imagine, Mr. Frazier, that a Republican administration allowed a high-powered corporate executive such access and influence. See the double standard? George Soros has also been a frequent White House visitor. That’s scary -- and unremarked by you.
Have you noticed: Media occasionally use “left-wing” regarding foreign politics, but never for Arnericaus like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi or Obama. For some liberals, their ideology is their identity, so they think that “normal” people are naturally left-wing.
Therefore they see conservatives as kooks and dunces, to the point where the mere presentation of conservative ideas is called “bias” -- a violation of their “norm.” To them the political landscape consists only of normal people (liberals) and right-wing. Left-wing doesn’t exist.
Conservatives and independents can see their identity problem. Consequences are administered in the voting booth.
