On Nov. 12 at Veterans Memorial Park, Bradenton, there will be a special dedication of the beautiful new 60-foot flag pole with its new beautiful American flag.
The event is sponsored by the Manatee County Veterans Council, which theoretically represents the more than 40,000 veterans in Manatee County.
I have been invited to be the speaker concerning our flag. As I composed the words to my part of the program, I could not help but think about the current dangers to our flag and to our nation.
We are doomed by our Founders’ unintended two-party political system. George Washington was the president of the United States; he was not a member of some party.
We have evolved in such a way that today’s party members are only concerned about what is best for their party, not for our country. It is reality that each party must destroy every single idea coming from the opposition.
What we need more than anything else is a leader, a great leader. I have seen no leadership with our current president. Looking at the opposite party, I see some nice men and women, but no great leader.
We must end “multiculturalism” and return to the original “melting pot” concept. I propose that we draft Colin Powell, a proven leader with much worldwide experience. He could act to save our nation.
If he refuses the opportunity, we move to the second choice, which would be David Petraeus, another highly respected proven leader, rich in experience, who could save America.
If Americans opt against these choices, then I propose a different option as follows. Every single citizen must return to the land of their ancestors wherever that was in 1490. All land of the United States should be returned to whoever occupied each area in 1490.
No more worries. No more complaining. Game over.
