Motivating government for the people, whether it’s watching the debates or listening to the angst between members of the Senate and the House, it is quite obvious that our elected officials have forgotten who they work for.
As I always try to remind people, there are 545 elected members sitting in Washington, D.C. who control 300 million Americans. It’s a staggering statistic that should get every voter’s attention
In thinking about what motivates these people, or conversely what does not, it seems to me there is a simple fix for these bureaucrats who continue to ruin our economy and our country.
The first thing we should consider is eliminating all outside social and peripheral issues. Meaning put aside those issues that these 545 bureaucrats use to divide the country and deflect our abilities to unite. We need to put down our differences on all these issues and focus on changing Washington once and for all.
My solution is simple. We focus on just three items which I believe will change government and the direction of this great country forever. I suggest that we put these people on a level playing field with every voter and then watch as they deal with the same issues you and I deal with.
My idea is as follows: 1. They participate in the same medical program as the voters. 2. They go on Social Security just like the rest of us. 3. Term limits are installed.
The results, I believe, would be monumental.
