I’m absolutely appalled by a statement that Bob Spencer made in his Oct. 12 letter. Of course, all of us can believe and say as we wish about sexual education for moral, religious, and/or political reasons. I assume any reasonable person would agree with this.
However, I find these words by Mr. Spencer anything but reasonable: “it is difficult to listen to Planned Parenthood pontificate on this subject. I would not listen to Ted Bundy give advice on any social issue and I refuse to listen to one of the largest providers of abortions pontificate on sex education.”
First of all, Planned Parenthood does not “pontificate,” which means to be dogmatic about a subject; it provides counselling and advice. It most assuredly does not “provide” abortions.
For Mr. Spencer to make an invidious and cruel comparison between a compassionate, caring organization with a horrible mass murderer is almost beyond belief.
By the way, I have no involvement with Planned Parenthood.
