Whenever business owners say they’re not creating jobs because they fear a lack of consumer confidence, I don’t know whether to laugh or just be incredulous. If companies would dare to create new jobs, there would be instant consumer confidence because these new employees would now have the money to purchase goods and services, and that would certainly stimulate the economy.
The popular argument that tax cuts would motivate companies to create jobs is also faulty. Businesses have been operating under tax cuts for the past few years. Where are the jobs? Or are businesses holding back for other reasons, perhaps political?
