Subtropical storm Fay forms in central Atlantic Ocean; no threat to U.S.

From Bay News 9:

Subtropical Depression 7 that formed Friday morning south of Bermuda has strengthened into Subtropical Storm Fay.

It is no threat to the U.S. as it will stay out in the Atlantic.The depression is moving toward the north-northwest near 12 mph.

A gradual turn toward the north is expected during the next 24 hours, followed by a turn toward the northeast on Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph, with higher gusts. Tropical storm conditions are possible on Bermuda late Saturday or on Sunday.

Fay is expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches across Bermuda.
