Apparently drunk, a Florida man decided to put on a flaming jersey after his favorite football team lost on Sunday, according to reports.
A 27-year-old Vero Beach man was taken to the hospital with second- and third-degree burns after watching the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers game, according to the Sebastian Daily.
Deputies from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office got a call about the incident around 9 p.m. Sunday, and spoke to the man at the hospital, the Sebastian Daily reported.
There, the man told officials they were watching the game and agreed to burn the jersey of the losing team. After the Packer’s won, they went outside to ignite the Dallas jersey. But, the man decided to grab “the jersey with his right arm and attempted to put it on while it was on fire,” TC Palm reported.
He told the deputies he was drunk, according to the Sebastian Daily. Family members removed the jersey and took him to the hospital.
