HB 7223 passed by a vote of 88 to 34.
Voting in favor were local lawmakers, state Rep. Keith Fitzgerald, D-Sarasota; Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton; Doug Holder, R-Sarasota, and House Speaker Pro Tempore Ron Reagan, R-Bradenton.
Opposing the measure was Rep. Darryl Rouson, D-St. Petersburg.
HB 7225 also passed on a vote of 83 to 32, with all but Rouson voting in favor.
The measures call for a five-year implementation plan for a statewide, managed care system designed to control costs, reduce fraud and abuse and provide more stable care for Medicaid participants.
