Sharff files to run for District 2 Manatee School Board seat

MANATEE — Paul Sharff, a local businessman who also is executive director of the Early Learning Coalition, is the fourth candidate to file for the District 2 school board seat being vacated by Harry Kinnan.

Sharff filed for the seat Friday, the last day for candidates to file for local and county seats.

Sharff also is a former GOP state committeeman and a former member of the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority. He joins attorney and longtime activist David Miner, and school teachers William Chaltis and Robert Moates, in pursuing the District 2 seat.

Kinnan, the current school board chair and a 12-year veteran of the board, is retiring and is not seeking re-election.
