Vehicle catches fire on Interstate 75 in Manatee County, causing traffic delays

A vehicle engulfed in flames on Interstate 75 is causing traffic delays Monday morning.

A 8:46 a.m., the fire was reported to the Florida Highway Patrol in the southbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 228.

A trooper was on scene as the North River Fire District worked to extinguish the blaze.

With the flames out, traffic has been opened up on the left lane but traffic was already backed up for miles.
