70-year-old Bradenton man dies in late-night crash on Interstate 75, FHP says

A driver died just after midnight after he hit the guardrail on Interstate 75 in Manatee County, the Florida Highway Patrol said Monday morning in a news release.

The driver was a 70-year-old man from Bradenton, FHP said.

He was headed north on 75 when his SUV went onto the left shoulder and hit the guardrail at 12:53 a.m.

The vehicle ended up on the left shoulder near mile marker 219.

The man “was later pronounced deceased,” FHP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
