SARASOTA -- A 57-year-old Nokomis man is being charged as a fugitive from justice after detectives learned he had outstanding warrants from Pennsylvania for raping a child, according to the Sarasota Sheriff's Office.
At 6:15 a.m. Thursday, Ronald Slicker was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice, according to an arrest warrant. Slicker is being held at the Sarasota County jail until a governor's warrant is obtained and extradition to Pennsylvania is arranged.
Through the Lawrence County District Attorney's Office in New Castle, Pennsylvania, detectives learned that Slicker was a fugitive from Pennsylvania wanted on sex crimes against a child, the report states.
Slicker is wanted for charges that include intercourse with a child and corruption of minors. Detectives say the assault occurred when the victim was five and six years old.
