SARASOTA -- Sarasota police have charged a woman with leaving the scene after an accident after she struck and injured a bicyclist Saturday morning.
About 10 a.m., a husband and wife were cycling on John Ringling Boulevard, just east of the twin bridges, when the woman was hit by a baby blue Chrysler 300 driven by "an elderly white woman," police said.
The injured woman was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where police said she was being treated for non-life-threatening injures.
About noon, police reported they had located the woman and charged her with leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries.
