MANATEE -- A Bradenton man was arrested when an argument with his girlfriend over sex turned physical, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Kevin McWhirt, 36, was arrested Wednesday and charged with battery, according to his arrest report. Manatee County jail records show that he was released Thursday on bond.
At 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to reports of a physical disturbance between McWhirt and his girlfriend at the home they share in the 2200 block of Bayshore Gardens Parkway in Bradenton.
The couple had been out drinking, came home and decided to engage in consensual sex, according to the report. They then began to argue.

McWhirt's girlfriend told deputies he then began to push her and grab her inside her arms as she was trying to push him off. She then said McWHirt began to slap her in the face and flicked her nose, according to the report.
Deputies say when they began to argue over a cell phone, he slapped her in the face again and pushed her in the face with an open hand, according to the report.
Deputies reported. McWhirt's girlfriend's face and inner arms were red. Deputies decided McWhirt was the primary aggressor.
