2 Manatee County men in same vehicle blame each other for car crash

MANATEE — Two men were arrested after fleeing the scene of a crash at 10:10 p.m. Friday and proving false information, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Marco Gomez, 24, and Nector Bartolo-Gonzalez, 25, reportedly ran from a crash, according to the news release, and were found in the 3200 block of 12th Street East.

Gonzalez obeyed an order to stop but Gomez ran through several yards chased by deputies, according to the report. Gomez was stopped after being shocked by a Taser. The victim sustained minor injuries, according to the report.

Gonzalez and Gomez each blamed the other for driving, according to the release.

Gomez is charged with obstruction for fleeing from law enforcement when ordered to stop and Gonzalez is charged with obstruction for providing several false names and date of birth.
