MANATEE -- Deputies are looking for two men after they tried to rob a man early Thursday and knocked his motorcycle over, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The victim was sitting on the south side of a Super Stop located at 5627 15th St. E. at 3:17 a.m. on Thursday waiting for a friend to meet him, according to a release.
Before his friend showed up, two men, identified as David and Terry Beckham, came up and told him to empty his pockets, deputies said. The victim backed away from them and told them he didn't have anything.
David shined a flashlight on the victim's pocket, saw a bulge, and told the victim to give it to him, according to a release. He handed a pack of cigarettes to David, who then threatened to hurt the victim.
The victim ran, leaving his motorcycle at the scene. David and Beckham knocked his motorcycle and ran east, towards the homeless camp.
David was described as 5'9, 200 pounds and wearing shorts and shoes. Beckham was described as 5'7, 150 pounds and also wearing shorts and shoes.
