Manatee panhandler squabble over territory turns into fistfight

MANATEE — A man has been charged with punching a victim over panhandling territory, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Allen Raucci, 47, was arrested at 8:44 a.m. Tuesday in the 8300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road, according to the report.

Raucci and the victim argued at 7:40 p.m. Monday about who gets to panhandle in the area and Raucci began punching the victim in the face.

The victim suffered a 1-inch laceration to the right side of his mouth and a 2-inch laceration with swelling to his left eye.

Raucci was charged with battery, according to a report. He was held in Manatee County jail on $500 bond, according to the sheriff’s office website.
