Bradenton man charged with breaking into cars on Siesta Key to pay for heroin addiction

Here's a Sarasota County Sheriff's Office news release:

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a Bradenton man in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries near Siesta Key Beach.

Several people recently reported wallets were stolen while their cars were parked on Beach Road or at beach access points nearby. In some cases windows were smashed but in others cars were unlocked. During this investigation, three victims reported their credit cards were used shortly after the crimes at the Osprey Avenue Publix to buy nearly $450 in gift cards and food. Detectives obtained surveillance video of the fraudulent transactions, and last week, an employee aware of the investigation recognized the suspect when he entered the store and noted the tag number of the vehicle he was driving. That information helped detectives identify the suspect as Ryan Dolci, DOB 2/15/85, 12319 Hollybush Terrace. Deputies located Dolci in a Beach Road parking lot Saturday and took him into custody on four arrest warrants. He told detectives he committed the crimes to fund his heroin addiction.

Dolci is charged with four counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and three counts of Vehicle Burglary. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are forthcoming.
