Florida Bar suspends, disbars 2 Bradenton-Sarasota based attorneys

TALLAHASSEE -- The Florida Bar announced Thursday that it has suspended, disbarred and revoked the licenses of a total of 20 attorneys throughout the state, including two from the Manatee-Sarasota area.

Maurice Andrew Mooney, a Bradenton-based attorney, was suspended indefinitely following an April 28 court order, according to a release. Mooney appeared to be causing great public harm by misappropriating client trust funds.

Kallan Christopher Eslich, a Sarasota-based attorney, was disbarred, with an opportunity to seek readmission after five years, according to a release. Eslich had several charges pending, including trust account violations and failure to diligently represent his clients.

The Florida Bar and its Department of Lawyer Regulation are charged with administering a statewide disciplinary system to enforce Supreme Court rules of professional conduct for the 100,000-plus lawyers admitted to practice law in Florida.
