Family interrupts burglary in progress in Bradenton

BRADENTON -- A home burglary in Bradenton early Tuesday was interrupted when the two burglars made contact with a resident, according to Bradenton police.

About 1:35 a.m., two burglars entered a residence in the 1400 block of 29th Street West, according to a report.

"Once the suspects made contact with the family, they fled the scene in an unknown direction," the report states.

A police dog was brought in, but officers were not able to find the burglars, according to the report.

During the investigation, police learned there had been another burglary elsewhere. Details on that break-in were not immediately available.
