MANATEE -- Manatee County Commissioner Larry Bustle said he is being treated well by the staff at Blake Medical Center where he's been after suffering a minor stroke on May 11.
"My left side is weakened, but I am regaining strength," Bustle said in an update he sent to the county, which commission Chairwoman Betsy Benac read during Tuesday's commission meeting. "I was told by my neurologist that I should expect a full recovery. I appreciate the visits and all of the kind wishes and prayers from everyone who has reached out."
Bustle, 79, who suffered a minor hemorrhagic stroke Monday, was taken to Blake after he fell ill during a Manatee County Chamber of Commerce breakfast featuring briefings from state lawmakers.
"It's good to hear from Larry that he is doing better," Benac said. "We wish him a speedy recovery but we also want to give him the time that he needs to make that recovery."
