Dog chases attempted armed robbers away in Bradenton

BRADENTON -- Two involved in an attempted armed robbery were foiled by the victim's dog, who chased them to their waiting vehicle on Sunday night, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

A person known to the victim came to the his home in the 2200 block of 9th Street West at 9:48 p.m. Sunday and asked for $10, police said.

As the victim was giving the person the money, an unknown man came to the door with a handgun and a t-shirt over his face and demanded the victim's wallet, according to a release.

The victim released his dog, which chased both the suspect and the accomplice back to their waiting vehicle, police said. The two then fled the area.

Police are looking for both involved, but did not provide descriptions.
