PALMETTO -- The Walmart in Palmetto was evacuated after a bomb threat Thursday night, but no explosives were found, according to the Palmetto Police Department.
An anonymous caller made the bomb threat to the Walmart located at 508 10th St. E. in Palmetto around 9 p.m. Thursday, police said. The manager had the store evacuated and called police.
The Palmetto Police Department and the Manatee County Sheriff's Office swept the building with canines and didn't find any explosive materials, police said.
The store was shut down for about two hours during the sweep.

Palmetto detectives are currently trying to determine who made the call and will seek appropriate charges, police said.
