MANATEE -- Two men were arrested early Tuesday after deputies interrupted a home invasion in progress, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. A third man fled before he could be arrested.
About 3:10 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 300 block of 60th Avenue Terrace West, Bradenton, after a neighbor called to report a disturbance next door, according to a news release.
Deputies went to the residence and found two intruders, Johnny Carlton Hawks Sr., 48, and Bertram P. Basdao, 41, inside the home. A third intruder escaped, according to the report.
Residents told deputies that Hawks and Basdao had kicked in their front door and asked repeatedly for a person who wasn't there, the sheriff's office said.
