MANATEE -- A 16-year-old boy was beaten and robbed during a home invasion in Bradenton on Wednesday morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 10:20 a.m., a man armed with a gun entered an apartment at the The Gates of Bradenton, 4515 26th St. W., through an opened front door, hit the teen with his gun and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing, according to a news release.
"The incident appears to be drug related," the sheriff's office said.
The victim refused medical treatment, according to the report.

The gunman was described as standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie and black jeans. He also was driving a possibly 2005 white Dodge Intrepid with tinted windows and chrome wheels.
