Ex-husband charged with breaking into Bradenton home, fighting ex-wife's new boyfriend

BRADENTON -- An ex-husband was charged with barging into his ex-wife's home and fighting with her new boyfriend, not even 24 hours after an ex-boyfriend had broken into the same home and threatened to kill an ex-girlfriend, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

It is unclear if the two incidents involved the same woman, but both occurred at the same home in the 3600 block of York Drive in Bradenton.

An ex-husband came to his ex-wife's home at 10:56 p.m. Tuesday and banged on the door, police said. When she opened the door, the suspect barged into her home and began a physical fight with her new boyfriend.

The suspect, who was not named in the release, suffered a cut ear and was cleared at Manatee Memorial Hospital before police took him to jail on charges of burglary and battery, according to a release.

At 2:55 a.m. Tuesday, Joshua Strong broke into the same home, grabbing a knife from the kitchen and sending text messages to his ex-girlfriend who lived there that he was going to kill her, police said.

Strong was arrested and charged with armed burglary, according to a release.

Strong was released from the Manatee County jail at an unspecified time on Tuesday on $20,000 bond. It is unclear if he was involved in the second incident.
