MANATEE -- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue in Bradenton into Monday evening, in advance of a cold front expected to blow through the region, according to the National Weather Services.
The thunderstorms that develop will be capable of producing strong, gusty winds, locally heavy rains and frequent lightning strikes, the Weather Service said.
"Winds and seas will increase behind the cold front overnight tonight with winds increasing to around 20 knots," creating hazardous boating conditions for small watercraft, the Weather Service said Monday afternoon.
Strong winds are expected to continue through Tuesday, albeit with mostly sunny skies.
